Two Iranian Film Documentaries to Be Screened at German Festival

Two Iranian film documentaries will be screened at the ongoing 45th Film Festival for Documentary and Animation Movies in the German city of Leipzig, the online site of the festival said yesterday.

Iranian film-maker Pedram Ganji's "Children of Brick" and Farzad Fooladi's "Ashoura" will be shown respectively on Friday and Saturday. Ganji's 12-minute documentary deals with a Kurdish boy who leaves his hometown with his family every spring to come to Tehran to make bricks. Meanwhile, Fooladi's half-hour piece tells about a unique Ashoura procession in Iran's Kurdistan province. Some 349 films from 44 countries will be screened from Wednesday through Sunday at four Leipzig area movie theaters.
